Every relationship between an author and illustrator is unique, with its own quirks and challenges. Both commit to the book and work together toward the common goal of making it the best it can be. As in every relationship, there is a give-and-take and doing whatever needs to be done to move the process forward toward completion.
My illustrator is working diligently on the preliminary pencil sketches I will receive by the end of March. At that point, we’ll discuss any changes before she begins the coloring phase of the project.
I contacted her a couple of days ago, and she sent me a sample of her completed pencil sketches. They are beautiful, and I’m excited to see more!
